World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman had no issue with the overall outcome in Saturday's high stakes junior middleweight unification between Jermell Charlo and Brian Castano.

The two boxers staked their titles to crown an undisputed champion at 154-pounds at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.

After twelve exciting rounds, the judges were not in agreement as the contest was ruled to be a split draw. The scores saw 114-113 in favor of Castano, 117-111 for Charlo and 114-114 for the draw.

Castano left the ring with his WBO strap, while Charlo walked away with his IBF, WBA, WBC world titles.

Sulaiman felt the contest was one of the best fights he had ever witnessed in the history of the junior middleweight division.

"The main event was, without a doubt, one of the best battles in the history of the super welterweight division, and one of the best fights in recent years. the Argentine warrior Castano severely pressured Charlo, who then rallied to fight his way back, coming very close to knocking out Castano in the tenth round. He dominated the last part of the fight and it was a draw. That was a fair result, since the performance of both boxers was dramatic, spectacular and thrilling," Sulaiman said.

Sulaiman was also impressed with undefeated middleweight prospect Amilcar Vidal, who won a ten round decision in a wild war with veteran Immanuwel Aleem.

"Fight night was wonderful; Uruguayan Amilcar Vidal had a sensational fight, in which he proved to be a real prospect, worthy of being ranked highly," Sulaiman said.
