Gilberto Mendoza Jr., President of the World Boxing Association, says his organization has already made two requests to obtain the medical records of Tyson Fury (25-0, 18KOs), who holds the WBA/WBO/IBO heavyweight world titles.

Last Friday, Fury withdrew - for a second time - from a scheduled rematch with Wladmir Klitschko on October 29th. The fight was scheduled for July, and Fury pulled out with an ankle injury.

This time around, Fury's management is claiming that a doctor deemed him 'medically unfit' to fight. The WBA title, along with the WBO and IBO - have been stalled since last November, when Fury shocked the sport by winning an upset decision over Klitschko in Germany.

The sanctioning bodies are very eager to get their hands on some medical proof to confirm Fury's medical condition. The fight is dealing with issues related to depression, according to his uncle and trainer Peter Fury.

Failure to provide the medical records could force the sanctioning organizations to strip him.

Because of Fury's inactivity, the entire division has been making moves. There are already talks of Klitschko fighting for a vacant title in a clash against IBF champion Anthony Joshua on November 26th. There is also talk of Joseph Parker and Andy Ruiz fighting for the vacant WBO title. The entire division is waiting for the sanctioning bodies to act.

"We have already made two requests to Tyson Fury's team to get the medical report, so we could know his medical status in full detail," Mendoza told ESPN Deportes.

"And regarding what actions we might take - everything will depend on the reports. He could be named a 'champion in recess,' the championship could become vacant, but we won't know until we have the medical report."

"With Lucas Browne there is an agreement to fight for the 'regular' title [against Fres Oquendo]. Wladimir Klitschko is waiting to see what the WBA does, while [WBA interim champion] Luis Ortiz has not reached an agreement to fight Alexander Ustinov because [Ortiz] wants a neutral laboratory to do the drug testing."
