This afternoon, the 89 Annual Convention of the World Boxing Association (WBA), which took place in the Convention Center of Hotel Crowne Plaza in Managua, Nicaragua, moved forward with a meeting dealing with the WBA rankings. The judges and referees seminar was advanced for Wednesday, given that many referees will travel back to America, before culminating the 89 Annual Convention, to celebrate Thanksgiving Day with their families.

MINIMUMWEIGHT

The first to speak was the Nicaraguan Ricardo Rizzo, representing the company Prodesa of Nicaragua, who asked that Nicaraguan Juan Palacios be placed as the first mandatory challenger to the title.

Sampson Lewkowicz and Hector Garcia, HG Boxing, said that Mexican Sammy Gutierrez and are willing to make defense against Nicaragua's Juan Palacios. But Rizzo countered that the fight he was looking for was against the Thai champion.  Marlon Reynolds, representing Canelo Promotions, called for the inclusion of Jesus Silvestre.

FLYWEIGHT

Lewkowicz said filipino Jether Oliva (15-0-1, 10 KOs) is ready for a world title chance.  Hector Garcia, and Omar Nino representative, suggested that he was placed as the mandatory to the title.

SUPER FLYWEIGHT

Mexican Juan José Montes is at the top of the WBC, with a record of 25-1, was nominated by his manager Hector Garcia for one of the top three spots in the division.

BANTAMWEIGHT

Lewkowicz said: "Hugo Ruiz is the number four and we are available for a WBA interim title fight." They called for the classification of Sergio Perales, in the top 15 of this division. Gary Shaw said he does not understand why Vic Darchinyan is in sixth place and not as the first challenger to the crown.

Robert Diaz, of Golden Boy Promotions, said the former champion Eric Morel went5 years without losing and want him back in line to be World Champion. Marlon Reynolds advocated Tomoki Kameda and requested for him to be included among the top five in the world.

SUPER BANTAMWEIGHT

Victor proposed "The Viking" Terrazas, with a record of 29-2, 15 KOs, as the first challenger to the crown. Scott Quigg asked to improve his position from 11 to a top spot. On behalf of Ricardo Cordoba, Henry Foster of Bad Dog Promotions, ordered a direct rematch for the Cuban Panamanian Guillermo Rigondeaux.

Lewkowicz made a request for Celestino Caballero to be made the mandatory challenger to the super featherweight title.

FEATHERWEIGHT

Escobedo Gómez said that as he was fighting for other regional titles, he was taken off the rankings, but now he resumed his place in the WBA.

Garcia also asked for Rafael Guzman, 28-2, to be located in the top 15, and Aguilar Nerys, undefeated with 25-0. Lewkowicz called for a better ranking for Daud Cino Yordan classification, who is eighth.

Gary Shaw asked for Abraham Franco and Luis Lopez to be in the top 15 in the division. Marlon Reynolds asked for José Manuel Osorio classified among the top 15 at featherweight. Manuel Garcia of Colombia asked for Francisco Cordero to be reclassified at 130 pounds.

SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT

Gary Shaw asked for Archie Marquez to be in top 15. Rizo called for Santos Benavides to be in the top 15.

LIGHTWEIGHT

Ricardo Rizzo pushed for Richard Abril to get a top 15 spot.

JUNIOR WELTERWEIGHT

Lewkowicz said Lucas Martin Matthysse was cheated in his last fight with Zab Judah and asked one of the first 15 positions of this division.

WELTERWEIGHT

Rizzo said his client, Brad Solomon, should be placed in the first place in the rankings. Requests made for Abregú and Timothy Bradley to be among the top 10 in the division. Requests were made in favor of Shamone Alvarez, Hector Saldivia of Argentina, and Englishman Matherw Hatton - to get better rankings.

SUPER WELTERWEIGHT

Gary Shaw called for Jonathan Gonzalez and asked for Alfredo "Perro" Angulo to be the mandatory.

MIDDLEWEIGHT

Tony Gonzalez asked for Nicaraguan Ricardo Mayorga, who returns to action in December in Miami, to get a good ranking.

SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT

A better ranking request for Daniel Geale. Hayemaker Promotions pushed for a better position for George Groves and Bad Dog Promotions for Glen Johnson.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT

A request made for a higher ranking for Chad Dawson.

CRUISERWEIGHT

A request for a higher ranking for Shane Cameron, who left the heavyweight division.

HEAVYWEIGHT

Requests for better rankings made for Hasim Rahman, Antonio Tarver, Tyson Fury and Robert Helenius. Winner of Moremeck-Ibragimov to get the number three spot.
