The Russian boxing landscape is slowly recovering from a groggy state, induced by the COVID-19 pandemic. The next sign for a health improvement is Russia’s third important event in three weeks, which is set to take place on July 3 in Moscow.

Promoting the show is the Patriot promotional company with a strong support from the Russian Boxing Federation.

Headlining the show is WBA #2 middleweight Magomed Madiev (14-0-1, 4 KOs), who collides with a power-punching compatriot Artur Osipov in the next defense of the Russian national title. Osipov (16-2, 11 KOs) is one fight removed from his back-to-back losses to Meiriim Nursultanov and Evgueny Terentiev in 2019. The bout is dedicated to the ongoing 99th WBA convention.

In what will be the special event of the night, former amateur star Albert Batyrgaziev, 22, makes his debut in super featherweight class by going ten against fellow compatriot Armen Ataev (5-1-1, 4 KOs).

Batyrgaziev is a member of powerful Russian amateur national team and a three-time Russian amateur champion. Also making his debut on the card is another talented amateur in Pavel Fedorov, who is scheduled for six against Rustem Fatkullin (8-5, 3 KOs), who has lost his last five.

Four undefeated fighters will be pit against each other in a pair of the other two ten-rounders. Firstly, super middleweight Pavel Silyagin (2-0) takes on lanky puncher Artysh Lopsan (2-0-1, 1 KO) from a far region of Tyva. Silyagin previously decisioned Maxim Smirnov less than three weeks ago. Also, rising welterweight powerhouse Shakhabbas Makhmudov (6-0, 5 KOs) is set to fight experienced Kazan native Fedor Glazkov (4-0-1, 2 KOs).

Slick and a bit swanky welterweight Sergey Vorobiev (9-1, 6 KOs), best known for his upset win over previously undefeated 34-0 Konstantin Ponomarev, will try to restore his image following a close loss to Karen Chukhadzyan in February by taking on veteran rover Pavel Mamontov (12-9-2, 1 KO) over eight.

A couple of heavier participants will round the show:

• Shigabudin Aliev (8-0, 5 KOs) vs. Artush Sarkisian (6-7, 4 KOs) – 8 rounds, cruiserweights

• Artem Suslenkov (3-0, 2 KOs) vs. Pavel Doroshilov (4-2, 1 KO) – 6 rounds, heavyweights
