Colon, Panama - Jamaican featherweight, Nicholas ”The Axeman” Walters,  successfully defended his Fedelatin championship by beating strong and resistant Nicaraguan Gonzalo Munguia, a former world title challenger who didn't answer the bell to start the ninth round.

With his victory by TKO on the main event of the final card of year for 2010 in Panama, presented by Premium Boxing Promotions, Walters improves his undefeated record to 17-0 and expects to improve his position in the WBA's world ranking (currently #9). In his 28 career fights, Munguia (17-8-3) had only been stopped twice. The previous one was against WBO super featherweight Roman Martinez earlier this year.

Haitian lightweight, Evens Pierre (17-1), scored a unanimous decision over experienced Colombian Dunis Liñan (12-17-2). Two judges scored 80-72 and the other 79-72.

Venezuelan female fighter, Ogleidis “La Niña” Suarez (13-2-1), needed just one punch to the ribs to stop Colombian Paola Herrera (14-5-2) in round one. Colon's boxing Commission fined Herrera because of her poor performance.

Local featherweight rookie Eric Walters (2-0) stopped Colombian Alex Arevalo (0-2) by KO in 2.

Venezuelan Franklin Manzanilla improved to 3-0 by Knocking out Colombian journeyman Víctor Peralta (1-36-2) at 1:21 of round #1.

Luis Quintana (2-1) demolished Davis Reyes (0-2) by impressive KO at 2:24 of the fourth and final round.
