WALTERS STOPS CAMAÑO IN 4

Jamaican featherweight Nicholas “The Axeman” Walters (16-0), ranked #10 by the WBA, scored a TKO over Panamanian Julio “Dinamite” Camaño (8-3) in the main event of the “Guerreros del Caribe” card presented by Premium Boxing Promotions on Saturday night at the “Panama Al” Brown in Colon, Panama.

Walters dominated from the beginning using his speed to punch Camaño from long distance until he dropped the Panamanian who refused to continue.

Referee Pablo Rowe stopped the fight at 2:02 of the fourth round.

Haitian Lightweight Evens “The Sun City Kid” Pierre (16-1) demolished veteran Gilberth Quiros (18-13-2), from Costa Rica sending him to the canvas twice before referee Hector Montes declared the TKO in the second round.

Leovigildo Siris (5-7-2) silenced the Arena by knocking out local favorite Rosano “Bulldog” Lawrence (13-11-1) on 1:50 of the very first round.  Lawrence went to the canvas twice forcing referee Carlos Quintero to stop the fight at 1:50.

Coming back from 5 years of retirement, veteran superwelter  Elvis “La Cobra” Guerrero (12-9-1), outpointed Carlos “El Verdugo” Jimenez (4-6). Guerrero knocked Jimenez down at the end of the first round of the fight scheduled to six, to finally score a unanimous decision.

Addir Sanchez (5-1) destroyed Roberto Small (2-3) with an impressive KO at 0:55 of round number one.

Antonio “El Gordo” Fernandez (13-2-1) beat Saimon Siris (3-5) by unanimous decision.

Bantamweight Nando Bailarin (3-1) outboxed experienced Colombian Victor Peralta (1-34-2) on his way to a majority decision.

The rematch between super lightweights Joao Powell (2-0-2) and David Wilkins (1-3-2) finished on a technical draw. Both of them suffered cuts on eyebrows as a result of an accidental head clash.  Referee Hector Montes followed the advice from Dr. Valentino Guzman and decided to go to the scorecards at 1:37 of the third round.
