In an interesting interview with Polish Dzieninka, undefeated heavyweight contender Mariusz Wach (25-0, 13 KOs) revealed that in October of this year, there were plans being made for an all-Polish showdown with the very experienced Albert Sosnowski (46-4-1, 28 KOs). The fight fell through after Sosnowski retained another opponent.

"We wanted to fight in October, with Albert Sosnowski. He had recently fought for the championship of the world and he is a former European champion. The duel would have made for good marketing and, more importantly, raised my status in the federation rankings, but Albert now has another opponent. Soon we are going to get a few new names and choose the most attractive opponent among the bunch," Wach said.
