WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko was stunned at the amount of punishment that Tomasz Adamek was able to take before he was stopped in the tenth round on Saturday night in Wroclaw, Poland. Vitali said he pasted other boxers with similar punches, but Adamek stood in there and tried to fight. As reported earlier, Vitali advised Adamek to move down in weight and said the Polish star was a blown-up heavyweight.

"It was not an easy fight, because Tomasz is a great boxer. I am very happy with the title defense because I had a great opponent, which is Tomasz Adamek. But you can't just eat more to become heavyweight. You have to be big. I think he made a mistake by moving up to heavyweight. I wasn't surprised by his speed, but in the third round I hit him with a hard right hand and I was very surprised because Tomasz was still on his feet. In the fourth, again I hit him with a hard right and I thought to myself 'wow, he's still there. I was controlling the fight and I knew that sooner or later I was going to knock Adamek out. But I was very surprised at how strong of a jaw Adamek has," Klitschko said.

What's next for Vitali? The WBC champion, and his younger brother, WBO/IBO/IBF/WBA champion Wladimir Klitschko, are in agreement that both of them are running out of name opponents to face. As reported on Saturday on BoxingScene.com, Wladimir is likely going to face former cruiserweight king Jean Marc Mormeck on December 10th in Germany. However, Vitali wants to face British boxer David Haye.

"I'm not ready to discuss who I'm fighting next. I want to take a break and then I can say more. David Haye said a lot of things about me and my brother and I really want to knock him out, so he may be next. Maybe right now you don't see any strong names around, but the younger generation is growing rapidly," said Klitschko.
