Junior middleweight Virgilijus Stapulionis will square off against Patrick Day on November 26, Main Events announced Monday morning.

The 10 round bout will take place at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn.

The fight between Stapulionis and Day will be the main event of the premier of the Rising Stars Boxing Series, a new fight series between Main Events and the casino.

"This is a perfect main event to kick off our new series at Mohegan Sun,” said Kathy Duva, the CEO of main Events. “The fans in attendance will really enjoy this fight and get to see what Rising Stars is all about."

Stapulionis, who is originally from Lithuania and now lives and trains in Oxnard, Calif., is unbeaten in his last six fights. In his last bout on June 11, Stapulionis won a 10 round split decision over Nathaniel Gallmiore.

Boxrec.com lists Stapulionis as 27-3-1, 19 KOs, but the release has him listed as 18-3-1, 13 KOs.

November 26 will mark the first time Stapulionis will headline a fight card in the United States.

“I am so excited to headline my first show since coming to America last year,” said Stapulionis. “I hope the fans will enjoy the fight and I promise to give them a good show.”

“’The Terminator’ is a very exciting and aggressive fighter,” said Egis Klimas, who manages Stapulionis. “Mohegan Sun has been the site of some great historic events and I think, by the end of the night, Stapulionis will have gained many new fans in Connecticut.”

Day (12-2-1, 6 KOs) is a former U.S. National and New York Golden Gloves champion.

Day won a six round unanimous decision over Courtney Pennington on April 23. He lost last year to Alantez Fox and Carlos Garcia.

“I am really looking forward to this fight,” said Day, who resides in nearby Freeport, N.Y. “This is the hardest I have ever trained and I am viewing it as my chance at redemption. I will be ready for whatever (Stapulionis) brings to the table. I am going to earn my victory on November 26.”
