Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York - Bill "Two Scoops" Emes catches up with Javier Fortuna ( 28-0-1, 20KOs), who punched his way to a twelve round unanimous decision victory over Bryan Vasquez (34-2, 18KOs) to capture the vacant WBA 'regular' super featherweight championship. The scores were 116-112, 117-111, 117-111.

Fortuna countering in the first round and pressing to lure Vasquez into a fire fight. Vasquez was staying calm and picking his spots with accurate shots in the contest. Fortune was eventually able to get Vasquez to stand and trade.

Fortuna was out-punching him during exchanges, but Vasquez was also having his moments and able to take whatever Fortuna was able to land. The continued in that manner, with plenty of trades and both fighters going at it - especially in the final moments of each round.
