Dereck Chisora threw a table towards Dillian Whyte during their pre-fight press conference on Wednesday.

The pair were at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Manchester to promote their showdown for the British heavyweight title.

Chisora is set to challenge Whyte (19-1, 15 KOs) for the Lonsdale belt, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office, on Saturday night at Manchester Arena, as part of the stacked undercard to Anthony Joshua’s second IBF heavyweight world title defence against Eric Molina.

Promoter Eddie Hearn, of Matchroom Boxing, Sky Sports’ head of boxing Adam Smith and the teams of the fighters were seated and there was some verbal sparring between the pair before Chisora lost his cool.

The Finchley heavyweight, who is a former world title challenger and European champion in the sport’s premier division, had to be restrained by security after sending the table towards Whyte and his trainer Mark Tibbs.

Chisora (26-6, 18 KOs) was incensed in the aftermath, claiming that Whyte –– who won the British title in a vacant capacity in October against Ian Lewison –– “threatened my life.”

They had also clashed in the 'The Gloves Are Off' preview show on Sky Sports earlier this week, forcing an early end to the recording.

Whyte claimed in the press conference that Chisora bit him on the chest when they scuffled at Sky studios at the filming of the aforementioned show.

Chisora has been involved in scuffles in the past. He and David Haye clashed after Chisora had lost to Vitali Klitschko in 2012. The pair then met in the ring later that year and Haye stopped Chisora inside five rounds at Upton Park.
