Former World Boxing Council super bantamweight champion Victor “Vikingo” Terrazas, doesn't want to make any statement, apart from a resounding and thudding impact with his fists, when he fights prodigy whipper snapper Eduardo “Rocky" Hernandez, with the WBC Latino Silver belt on the line - this Saturday night at the iconic “Arena Coliseo” in Mexico City.
It's a classic Spring and Autumn, of experience vs. youth match. Rocky Hernandez has knocked out 16 of his 23 rivals. He remains undefeated and he is still only 18 years old.
On the other hand, Victor Terrazas, who is a former super bantamweight world champion is back but now as a super featherweight. He's determined to re-conquer glory . He has knocked out 21 of his rivals and he seeking to do it all over again.
IN OTHER NEWS: New Zealander Gentiane Lupi, will be going for the vacant WBA Oceania Super Featherweight Title on November 12th in Singapore. Lupi is the third New Zealander this year that is going for the WBA Oceania title.
The first two was Australian-New Zealander Solomon Haumono, winning the Interim WBA Oceania Heavyweight title against Argentinian boxer, Manuel Alberto Pucheta in April this year. The other boxer was American-New Zealander Julius Long, winning also the Interim WBA Oceania Heavyweight title against Tongan-Australian boxer, Bowie Tupou last week.
40 year old Wellingtonian Gentiane Lupi, is a jack of all trades. She is an actress, a stuntwomen, MMA Fighter, Muay Thai & Kickboxer and Boxer. She holds over 8 Kickboxing/Muay Thai titles and is a former WIBA World Super Bantamweight champion.
Lupi’s biggest fight of her career was against American Ronica Jeffrey for WBC Silver title in Auckland last April. Her biggest win of her career was defeating the first ever IBF Women’s World Champion, New Zealander Daniella Smith. Lupi defeated Smith twice in her career, both times in 2014.
Lupi’s opponent is 28 year old Singaporean, Nurshahidah Roslie. Roslie is undefeated boxer who currently holds the UBO InterContinental female super featherweight title. Roslie has had four fights in her career so far with all the fights being either against debutants or 0 - 1 - 0 boxers. This will be the biggest fight of Roslie career going against a person who has has 30 fights.
Lupi’s current fight record is 4 - 3 - 1 in boxing, 18 - 3 - 0 in kickboxing and 1 - 1 - 0 in MMA, which is a total of 23 - 7 - 1. Lupi also has a big challenge with this fight as she has never won a fight outside of New Zealand.
If she does win the fight she will not only get a WBA top 15 ranking but also hold the same title that other New Zealanders have hold including Joseph Parker, Michelle Preston, Julius long and Solomon Haumono. There has only a couple of NZ’s who has failed in their attempts to capture the WBA Oceania title including Reece Papuni (vs. Trent Broadhurst) and Kali Meehan (vs. Joseph Parker).
