After weeks of negotiations, veteran boxing writer Thomas Gerbasi has accepted a senior editorial position with BoxingScene.com. For nearly a decade, Gerbasi was the editor and co-owner of Maxboxing.com. Since October of 2005, Gerbasi has been the Editorial Director for UFC.com. Gerbasi is one of the most respected, versatile writers in the boxing industry.

"I had the opportunity to work with Rick Reeno and the staff of BoxingScene in 2008, and the quality and professionalism of the team was immediately evident, making the idea of coming on board here a no brainer. I believe BoxingScene is home to the best coverage in the sport today, and I hope I can add to that in the coming years," Gerbasi said.

Some of Thomas Gerbasi’s Honors include:

2007 winner of first place BWAA Barney award for best column, 2006 winner of third place Boxing Writers Association of America Barney award for event coverage, 2005 winner of second place Boxing Writers Association of America Barney award for column writing, 2002 winner of third place Boxing Writers Association of America Barney award for feature story writing. 2008 honorable mention for feature over 2500 words.

"I've been a fan of Tom's writing for a long time. When I found out Tom was a free agent, I made it my priority to bring him on board. Tom is one of the most professional and most respected writers in the game," said BoxingScene Publisher Rick Reeno.

Thomas Gerbasi will debut with BoxingScene in the first week of October.
