Unbeaten super featherweight contender Andy Vences (22-0-1) is fully aware of the task at hand.  On June 8th he will face Albert Bell (14-0) on the Oscar Valdez-Jason Sanchez undercard that takes place in Reno, Nevada.

While he knows that he needs to continue winning to get a title shot, the Bay Area resident believes that he is ready for a title shot now and wants a chance as soon as possible.

He is willing to face any titleholder but admits that he has one eye on Saturday night's ESPN televised fight pitting WBO super featherweight champion Masayuki Ito against 2012 US Olympian Jamel Herring.

“I want anyone with a belt. I am going to pay close attention to Ito and Herring. Also (WBC champion Miguel) Berchelt - I watched his fight against (Francisco) Vargas and don’t get me wrong - he is a warrior and a has a lot of experience but he hasn’t fought a boxer like me," Vences told BoxingScene.com.

Vences and Herring have gotten into it before in public. Vences recently called him out and told him not to hide if he emerges victorious against Ito. Because of that history, Vences believes that a fight against him would be bigger than a fight against Ito.

With that being said, Vences believes that Ito may be too strong for Herring, especially with the way he knocked down the durable Christopher "Pitufo" Diaz in their fight last year.

"I want the winner this Saturday. I want the mandatory defense to be against me. I hope it will be me and hopefully after this fight I will be ranked in the top 10. I really hope Jamel wins because I feel that will be a bigger fight because we have some history with each other. I don’t know though. I think that Ito will probably win it though. He is tough. He put Pitufo down. He is strong,” Vences stated.

As for his own fight, Vences said that the fans can expect an exciting but very one-sided fight. After a feeling out round or two he expects to dominate the fight.

“You have two undefeated fighters so you know it will be a great fight. The guy is very confident and thinks he will beat me. You can expect a good competitive fight for a couple of rounds then look for me to take over,” said Vences.
