Promoter Felix "Tutico" Zabala, director of the All Star Boxing, told BoxingScene.com/NotiFight.com that a fight between his protege Wilfredo Vazquez Jr., the super bantamweight champion of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), and challenger Ivan Hernandez of Mexico, has not been finalized for October 16. Hernandez's promoters, Baja Boxing from Mexico, announced that they had signed the contract for the fight.

“We are still negotiating Wilfredo's fight, but for now we do not know who the opponent will be," said Zabala from Miami, Florida. “Ivan Hernandez is a possibility as an opponent, but we have three other potential opponent on the agenda. We are in the process of the negotiations and I do not understand why the promoters in Mexico and Hernandez said that that they were the opponent of Vazquez Jr."

"The announcement that was made in Mexico is wrong, because the WBO has not approved any of the opponents that we proposed for Wilfredo Jr. I'm surprised at what they said about the fight, because it could affect us in the negotiations [with the other possible opponents]."
