Middleweight contender Matt Vanda (44-13, 24KOs) has promised to punish Marco Antonio Rubio (52-5-1, 45KOs) on December 16th at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Vanda promised to punish him in the same way that he punished Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in 2008. Chavez, who fought with the flu, barely got past Vanda in their first fight. The Mexican dominated their rematch. Their fight will be broadcast by Televisa as part of the WBC's annual convention.

"I beat Chavez Jr. [in the first fight] and he's now is the current [WBC middleweight] world champion, so Rubio knows what's waiting for him. Rubio better get well prepared for this fight because I'll be ready to beat him like I did [Chavez] a few years ago but the judges told another story," said Vanda.

"For me it is an honor and a commitment to fight at the close of the WBC's convention. Once again I am here prove who I am, with the most knowledgeable fans of the sport and those whill be there supporting me."
