Universum has responded to the recent statements that were given by heavyweight Alexander Dimitrenko. In a recent interview that appeared on BoxingScene.com, Dimitrenko discussed Universum's CEO Waldemar Kluch and broke down his plans for the future. Among other things, the boxer said the Universum CEO displayed unprofessionalism and announced that he wants to work with a new promoter after his contract expires in September of this year.

Kluch said he was surprised and disappointed over the statements. He disputes that Universum didn't have a rep at the WBC recent convention in Las Vegas, which Dimitrenko says he attended on his own without a promoter.

"I can not understand the statements of Alexander Dimitrenko. And a lot [of what he said] is simply not true. At the WBC convention in Las Vegas, there was a rep of Universum Box-Promotion on site and discussions were held [with the WBC]. I was unable to attend due to important discussions with potential [television] broadcasters, unfortunately, said Kluch.
