On Saturday November 21, Eye of the Tiger Management will once again storm the city of Rimouski to present the first duels of the exciting tournament called The Square of Aces. This event presented by La Queen beer and Mise-O-Jeu will feature Yves Ulysse jr. (18-2, 9 KO.), Mathieu Germain (18-1-1, 8 KO.), Steve Claggett (28-5-2, 18 KO.) and David Théroux (16-3, 11 KO.) broadcasted live on Punching Grace on 7 p.m.

"We are happy to be able to promote this tournament in the city of Rimouski once again. It is important for us that this boxing card be held in Quebec following our last gala which proved to be a great success in terms of compliance with the sanitary requirements of Public Health”, underlines the president of EOTTM, Camille Estephan.

For the first edition of the Square of Aces, fans will see two excellent technicians go head to head while Junior Ulysse and Mathieu Germain face each other in a very intriguing battle where the NABF and WBC FRANCOPHONE titles will be at stake. In addition, David Théroux will face the extremely energetic Steve Claggett in a NABA championship fight. These world-class rivalries will unfold over a one-year period where all boxers will face each other once, at a minimum. The qualifying procedures for the Square of Aces are straightforward as a scoring system is awarded based on the results of each bout. A victory by K.-O. or by unanimous decision is equivalent to three points. On the other hand, a split decision gives the winner two points. In the event of a bout judged to be a draw, the fighters only deserve one point, while a loss will be worth none.

“In addition to their respective purses, the boxers competing in the Square of Aces will benefit from a considerable advancement in the world rankings to move closer to a world championship fight. Many belts will be at stake and a bonus of $50,000 will be awarded to the overall winner of the competition. The boxers evidently all want to win this tournament,” said EOTTM’s vice-president, Antonin Décarie.

As well as these very promising clashes, boxing fans will be delighted with the addition of another main event that will pit slugger Simon Kean (19-1, 18 KOs) against the very skilled Albertan, Stan Surmacz (12-1 , 7 KO.). This fight will be a very important one in Kean's career as the NABA heavyweight title is on the line.

"We are keen to add this belt to Simon's record as it will allow him to return to the world rankings. We would therefore have two major North American titles with Simon Kean and Arslanbek Makhmudov. This will allow us to occupy a prominent place in the world heavyweight classes,” added EOTTM President Camille Estephan.

Additionally, Raphael Courchesne (8-0, 3 KO.) and Josh Wagner (6-0, 5 KO.) will put their perfect records on the line in what promises to be a true war scheduled for 6 rounds. Heavyweight Adam Dyczka (2-0, 1 KO.) will also be on the card as he returns to face British Columbian Jaye Byard (0-1) in a 4-round bout.
