The unheralded Portuguese light middleweight Uisima Lima (12-1) outworked the big favourite Haro Matevosyan (18-1) and gradually wore down the Armenia-born German for a TKO win 0-01 into the 11th-round at Stadthalle, Falkensee.

Matevosyan's defence was very good. He often blocked a significant number of punches coming his way and was rarely hurt, but he didn't punch back and was simply outworked until the later rounds when he stopped punching back. It appeared that he had little left but why that was was the big question at ringside, even though his withdrawal came as a surprise.

Viktor Cakiqi (7-0), the welterweight from nearby Berlin, knocked out Venezuela’s Yeison Gonzalez (19-12) in the fourth round of a scheduled eight-round fight. Gonzalez appeared to have hurt his right hand just before Cakiqi landed the left hook that stopped him. Gonzalez made a slow start but grew into their fight in the third.

Germany’s Paul Wall (6-0) outscored Simone Bono (3-2-2) of Italy at the end of a competitive six-round fight. Bono was floored in the second but recovered and remained ambitious throughout this meeting of two southpaws.
