LAS VEGAS - Manny Pacquiao (62-7-2) and Yordenis Ugas (26-4) made their "Grand Arrivals" Tuesday at the Toshiba Plaza just outside of T-Mobile Arena to officially kick off fight week. They will face each other Saturday night in FOX pay-per-view event that will be broadcast live from the arena.

The 42-year-old Pacquiao was originally scheduled to face WBC/IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence and Ugas was set to face welterweight contender Fabian Maidana.

Those plans changed 10 days before the fight when Spence was diagnosed with retinal tear after an exam that was ordered by the Nevada State Athletic Commission and Maidana suffered a cut during a sparring session.

A deal was quickly reached for Pacquiao and Ugas to face each other.  At stake will be Ugas' WBA "super" welterweight title that was recently stripped from Pacquiao.

Pacquiao will now be facing an orthodox fighter instead of a southpaw and Ugas will be facing a lefty instead of a right handed fighter.

When asked if the change favored either fighter, Ugas said that he doesn't believe that it affects either fighter more than the other.

“He was going to fight a left hander and myself an orthodox fighter and then everything changed.  I think we are both fighters who bring it all and compete hard.  I don’t think that anyone has an advantage in regards to that. I think that 10 days was sufficient time for us both to get ready for the changes that we now face," Ugas told BoxingScene.com.

Ugas last fought in September when he defeated Abel Ramos via split decision.  Pacquiao was last in action in July, 2019 when he picked up a split decision victory over Keith Thurman.

The pay-per-view portion of the card will be rounded out with a featherweight bout pitting Carlos Castro against Oscar Escandon, Robert Guerrero versus Victor Ortiz and Mark Magsayo taking on Julio Ceja.
