At the Théâtre Olympia of Montréal, brothers Howard and Otis Grant staged a card. In the main fight of the evening, Francis Lafreniere (8-5-2) and his opponent Mohammed Akron (20-9-0) of Ghana, traded punches until Lafreniere put down Akron and punished him until referee Micheal Griffin stopped the fight at 2:09 of the eighth.

For his part, Tyson Cave (25-3-0) bounced back from December's split decision loss to Oscar Escandon with a unanimous decision victory over Abraham Gomez (19-10-1) of Mexico.

Super middleweight prospect Erik Bazinyan (8-0-0) won by TKO at 2:38 of the fifth over Morgan Le Gal (11-3-1) of France.

Canadian heavyweight champion Dillon Carman (8-2-0) of Ontario won his confrontation by TKO at 3:00 of the eighth round over Benito Quiroz (11-3-0) of Mexico. Quiroz collapsed at the end of the fight.

Also at heavyweight, Eric Martel-Bahoeli (11-5-0) of Quebec won by decision over Samer Barakat (4-1-0) in a bout that saw both men taste the canvas.
