It's been a frustrating 2017 campaign for heavyweight hopeful Trey Lippe-Morrison, who has been sidelined with a damaged left hand that has kept him sidelined throughout the year.

He last fought on December 10th, 2016,, when he stopped Ty Cobb in two rounds.

"It's been really frustrating because I had two ShoBox opportunities and I haven't been able to fight on either of them," said the son of former heavyweight titlist, Tommy Morrison, who has a record of 13-0 (13 KO's).

Lippe said of his left hand - "It's been over a period of time, it's been hurting like my last five fights but it hadn't been hurting enough to bother me. I came back for the last camp and it was just too much."

Three months ago Lippe underwent surgery on his ailing left hand and as for his return, he told BoxingScene.com:

"We're guessing we might have a fight in about three months but that's not a for sure thing."

Meanwhile, he'll continue to work under the tutelage of renowned trainer, Freddie Roach, at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, California. Thus far he's been happy with his development as a boxer.

"100-percent," stated the 27-year old from Tulsa, Oklahoma. "Just the little things, the small mechanics. Like I've been able to not arm-punch but punch with my hips, know when to punch. Just having Freddie with me and teaching me things All the little things."
