The upcoming junior middleweight clash between Danny Garcia and Jose Benavidez will also feature a battle of fathers.

Danny Garcia is trained by his father Angel Garcia, while Benavidez is also trained by father, Jose Benavidez Sr.

The two fighters will collide in a do or die Showtime televised fight on July 30 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Benavidez (27-1-1) badly needs an impressive win after going to a lackluster draw with Francisco Emanuel Torres last November.

Garcia, who captured world titles at junior welterweight and welterweight, is making his debut at 154-pounds. Despite coming off a one-sided decision loss to welterweight champion Errol Spence in December 2020, Garcia is the heavy favorite to win the upcoming fight.

Benavidez Sr. expects a very tough contest. He openly admits that his son not only needs to win, but he must also look very impressive when he faces Garcia in the ring.

"We have to look impressive. I know Danny's ready, him and his father are training super hard. All due respect to them," Benavidez Sr. said to the Arizona Central.

"But at the end of the day, man, we need this fight in order to get back in the rankings and get back in boxing with José Benavidez Jr. We need to impress. We need to give it all, and I guarantee you someone's going to get knocked out.

"We know what we're getting into. Like I tell everybody, we don't run from nobody. We're facing an animal. A f------ monster. We're ready for that and we're ready to give the people what they want on July 30."
