So what's next for middleweight contender, Daniel Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs), who took Gennady Golovkin the distance on March 18th at the Madison Square Garden in New York?

There is talk of him getting a slot on the undercard of the Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin undercard at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on September 16th.

Jacobs' long-time trainer, Andre Rozier told BoxingScene.com - "It's a possibility, we just need a dance partner but it's a strong possibility that he'll be on the card."

Any chance of WBO titlist, Billy Joe Saunders, who is suddenly in need of an opponent now that Avtandil Khurtsidze has been arrested for allegedly being part of a Russian crime syndicate?

"No, Billy Joe's not going to fight us. Billy Joe's going to stay in England and keep the title hostage as he's been doing," opined Rozier, echoing the thoughts of many others. "We'd love to but we know it wont happen. We're realistic about that. We know it wont happen."

And if they don't land on this pay-per-view card, then what?

"I don't know, I mean, it'll be a little murky at that point to fin out what might take place," admitted Rozier, who has been frustrated by Jacobs relative inactivity of the past (having fought just once in 2016).

"I'm looking forward to it actually happening. We wanted to fight David Lemieux but I don't think he's too keen on getting in the ring with Danny."

Lemieux, who has fought twice this year, could be waiting around for an opportunity at Miguel Cotto later in 2017.

Rozier continued - "We'll have to see but there's not a lot of major work we can get from the top-tier individuals to make a fight of that nature happen so I'm actually looking forward to seeing what happens next, myself."

The trainer says Jacobs has been back in the gym for the past couple of weeks.
