Heavyweight veteran Tony Thompson does not see anything special about feared puncher Luis Ortiz (26-0, 22KOs) of Cuba.

On Saturday night in Monte Carlo, Ortiz won a twelve round unanimous decision over Malik Scott. The fight was dreadful to watch and fans were lulled to sleep as Scott showed very little offense and ran for nearly the entire fight. Ortiz didn't exactly press the action, but scored three knockdowns.

Ortiz stopped Thompson in six rounds back in March, when they fought in Thompson's hometown of Washington, DC.

Thompson said he fought Ortiz on two weeks notice and wasn't in the best of shape when he stepped in the ring.

He also questions the punching power of Ortiz. Thompson doesn't view him as being a one-punch knockout artist. Thompson says he is not being spiteful over his stoppage loss, but simply telling the truth - in his opinion - about Ortiz.

"I fought Ortiz on two weeks' notice and went six tough rounds with him. If you're that confident about whooping me, tell me earlier so I can have a full training camp! [He's] not really [deserving of this huge puncher reputation]. I fought the guy after walking to the arena from my house, two weeks' notice, man! The Tony Thompson that fought David Price the second time was in great shape, I'd do the same thing to Ortiz that I did to Price," Thompson told Sky Sports.

"He has power but we're all heavyweights so we all have power. It's not dealing with the power, that's the problem, you have to deal with power in every fight. I really didn't see the 'special' in him. Yes, he hit hard and yes, he's a big guy - but we all hit hard, and we're all big guys! I just didn't see the 'special' and, although everyone will say that's sour grapes, I'm a truthful guy."
