Add another fighter that is being trained by Roy Jones, Jr.

Tony Curtis will make his pro debut against Javier Perez Calderon (1-3) of Mexico City tonight at the Grand Oasis Arena in Cancun, Mexico. The four-round bout will open the ProBox TV stream (9 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. PT).

The 16-year-old Curtis, who resides in London, England, has made an impression thus far with Jones, the former three-division world champion.

“Tony only had 10 amateur fights,” said Jones earlier this week. “He’s from the UK (United Kingdom). He’s got such a pro style already (that) he didn’t need to fight as (an) amateur anymore. Here we are.”

Jones won world title belts at super middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight.

Jones currently trains the likes of middleweight contender Chris Eubank, Jr. and welterweight prospect Michael Williams, Jr.

It is not uncommon for young fighters to turn pro or fight in Mexico. The current minimum age to professionally fight in Mexico is 16, but some fighters turned pro at the age of 15.

In the main event, unbeaten junior featherweight Christopher Lopez (15-0-1, 10 knockouts) of Guadalajara, Mexico will square off against Mexico City’s Alejandro Diaz (11-4-2, 6 KOs) in a 10-round bout.

The card is a co-promotion between Marquez Promotions, run by former world champion Juan Manuel Marquez, and Cancun Boxing.
