Tony Conquest has announced his retirement after injury ruled him out of his next fight.

The London cruiserweight, who had been set to take on Craig Kennedy (13-0, 7 KOs) later this week in an eliminator for the British title, exclusively live on Eurosport, revealed the news on Twitter.

Conquest (16-2, 5 KOs) cited a training injury as the reason behind his withdrawal from the clash –– that was scheduled for March 11 at the Newport Centre –– and subsequent retirement.

“After another injury and much frustration, I have had to make the decision to retire,” the former Commonwealth king tweeted before wishing Kennedy, who will now face Lukasz Rusiewicz (21-22, 12 KOs) of Poland over 10 rounds on Friday, all the best in his future career.
