Earlier this month, we saw that the Kyoei gym closed its doors as a professional boxing gym, with Keiichiro Kanehira delivering paperwork to essentially close the gym due to problems with the owner.

The gym had two fighters who temporarily joined the Hanagata gymnasium, to fight in their final Rookie of the Year matches, but little was said about star fighter and former world champion Tomoki Kameda (36-3, 20 knockouts).

Now, however, Notifight have revealed that Kameda will probably return to the Green Tsuda gymnasium, a gymnasium he previously fought for in his career.

From what is being reported - the paperwork for the transfer of Kameda is not yet complete, but it is seen as a very likely decision with conversations between the president of the gym and the fighter going well. If he actually re-signs with the Osaka-based gym, then his next Japanese match will be fought as a Green Tsuda fighter.

The gym is said to be scheduled to negotiate full terms with Kameda in January. The Japanese boxer is currently training in the US, and an agreement will probably be completed next month, taking him back to the gym where he debuted.

According to JBC rules, Kameda would need to be signed with a Japanese gym to be able to fight for a world title at home, and Green Tsuda has taken 3 boxers to world titles in the past, including Katsunari Takayama.
