Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey - Former two division champion Tomasz Adamek (46-2, 28KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Eddie Chambers (36-3, 18KOs) in a fight that was much closer than the scorecards would indicate. The scores were 116-112, 116-112 and a criminal 119-109.

After outboxing Adamek for the majority of the first four rounds, Chambers looked as if he hurt his left arm in the fifth as Adamek started to come on. The sixth was a very strong round for Adamek, who landed numerous big shots. Chambers continued to use his right hand and stopped throwing the left jab, which indicated a possible arm injury.

Chambers came out in the seventh like a new man, still mostly using his right hand but now he was back to outboxing Adamek. But in the eight Adamek came back and started firing back with hard shots to get himself back in the fight.

In the ninth, Adamek began to look tired and Chambers was starting to work himself back in. The remaining rounds were close with both of them having their moments. During many of the rounds, Chambers blocked a lot of punches when Adamek would explode with combinations. But Adamek was busier and never stopped throwing, while Chambers was more accurate with his shots.
