Tim-Robin Lihaug (14-1, 8 KOs) is promising an explosive performance when he returns to the ring on December 12 at the Brondby Hallen in Copenhagen.

Lihaug is the first name confirmed on the undercard for a blockbuster event in the Danish capital featuring the domestic mega-fight between Patrick Nielsen and Rudy Markussen, and the Norwegian super middleweight talent is eager to make an impression.

‘’I’m very excited to be part of such a huge show for both Danish and Scandinavian boxing,’’ said Lihaug. ‘’The main event between Patrick and Rudy will of course be one to remember, but I also intend to make my mark on December 12!’’

The 23 year-old is back in action following a tough eight-round encounter with

Baptiste Castegnaro in September, where despite scoring a unanimous points victory, Lihaug believes there was room for improvement.

‘’I can admit that I wasn’t best pleased with my last,’’ said the current WBO Youth World Champion. ‘’The feeling I had when I stepped out of the ring wasn’t good – although I did win with a strong unanimous decision. After the fight I took a few days off and then evaluated the fight and have made some changes to my training regime.

‘’In the build up to this fight we will be doing a lot of alternative training to boost my explosiveness. During the past week I’ve been training with one of Norway’s best sprinters, and next week we’re heading for a two-week stay in Berlin, where I will be training and sparring with Tyron Zeuge, Enrico Koelling and Stefan Haertel at Karsten Roewer’s gym in Berlin.

‘’It is not enough for me just to win fights. I am only pleased when I win in a superior manner, which I will on December 12 in Copenhagen, no matter who steps up against me!’’

Although Lihaug is looking forward to fighting once again in Copenhagen, where he has recorded six of his fourteen victories, the Bergen-boxer still harbors hope of competing in his hometown next year.

‘’Denmark has a lot of great fighters and I love the support I get from the Danish boxing fans,’’ said Lihaug. ‘’I must admit that I’m really jealous of Patrick, Rudy and all the other Danish boxers and boxers of all other nationalities who get to fight at home, and I really hope to experience that myself in my hometown next year!’’

Said promoter Nisse Sauerland: ‘’Tim brings a lot of excitement whenever he fights and it will be no different on December 12. He has a tough training camp lined up and I’m sure we will see the benefits of this in the ring. It’s no secret that he dreams of fighting at home in Bergen and we want to make this happen, and with the support of the Norwegian public we are positive we can make this happen.’’

Further undercard details including an opponent for Lihaug will be announced shortly. Tickets for the massive Team Sauerland event on December 12 at the Brondby Hallen are available online via billetlugen.dk or by calling (+45) 75 263 267.
