It was adding insult to injury for Timothy Bradley on Saturday night. Not only was the left side of his face severely swollen (due to clashing of heads) he then had to settle for a draw against Diego Chaves at the Cosmopolitan in a fight that an overwhelming number of observers had him winning.

Burt Clements had him up by a score of 115-113, Craig Metcalfe had the fight dead even at 114-114, but Julie Lederman had the most egregious scorecard of the weekend, as she had Chaves up after twelve rounds, 116-112.

Bradley told BoxingScene.com - "It was ridiculous man, it was just ridiculous. Honestly, I can truly say that I definitely had respect for Lederman for a very long time. I followed this lady, her judging. I have no idea what the heck she was on two nights ago. I don't know what she was on, what the heck was on her mind. I have no idea but there was no way this guy won eight rounds to four, absolutely not. I was ridiculous.

"So it's a shame, I don't get it. I really don't get it."

To his credit, Bradley, who dropped to 31-1-1 (12 KO's), still has his sense of humor intact.

"But what are you going to do? Do I get the senator involved? Do I call the President? What do I do?"

As for his recovery - "a lot of aspirin, tons of ice on my face, literally,"said Bradley, who was actually out shopping with his wife, Monica, on Monday. The injury looked worse than it turned out to be.

"No fractures, nothing whatsoever. Just some soft tissue damage. I'm good, it's just bruising, swollen."

In terms of his return to the ring, Bradley says he'll be back before the summer of 2015.

"I'll be back in April or May, my wife is due in March so I definitely want to tend to  my wife and give her support," Bradley explained. "She's very focused on what she has to do. That's her fight so I'm definitely going to be there to support her for that and don't want her stressing out about when we'll do the fight. So I'll probably return in like May."
