WBA 'regular' welterweight champion Keith Thurman (26-0, 22 KOs) is open to the idea of fighting rising contender Errol Spence Jr. (17-0, 14 KOs) - if WBC/WBA super welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) contractually binds himself to face the winner.

Back in June, Mayweather dared Thurman to face Spence and even offered to vacate one of his world titles to entice Thurman to the table. Mayweather went even further, stating that he would place Thurman-Spence as the co-featured attraction on his upcoming September 12th Showtime Pay-Per-View at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Thurman, who is chasing Mayweather, sees no reason to face someone like Spence who doesn't have any notable wins on his record.

But Thurman is open to idea, if Mayweather guarantees that he'll face the winner.

"Why are you acting like there is any benefit to fighting Errol Spence when he has fought nobody. The only hype behind Errol Spence are the words that came out of Floyd Mayweather's mouth himself. He's not in the top ten, he's probably not even in the top 25. He's coming up and he keeps fighting these one week replacements. He hasn't fought nobody and now he wants Keith 'One Time' Thurman, who's been working hard for the last three years fighting everyone they throw at me - to look down at the young buck. You want me to look down there and prove to you, just cause Floyd wants to grab a balloon, blow on it and puff him up. I can pop that balloon quick," Thurman said.

"Lets be honest and lets be real - he doesn't deserve the fight. I deserve the fight with Floyd more than Spence deserves a fight with Keith 'One Time' Thurman.  What does he have to offer? Absolutely nothing. How about I stand behind somebody and then get Floyd to fight that person because I feel like saying something. Why am I going to fight somebody who doesn’t deserve to fight at this time? It’s just not logical."

"If I should fight a fighter because someone just states that I should do it, then how come [Mayweather] doesn’t fight me, because I’ve been stating since the day I hit HBO that I want Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather. The day I knock out a nobody and call out  somebody, how come that somebody doesn’t fight me? But this kid knocks out a nobody and is calling out a somebody, but I should take that. Lets be real and lets be honest. Lets treat every fighter equal. If you make me work, let him fight Diego Chaves, let him fight one or two fighters that I fought, and then let’s really have this real conversation about Errol ‘The Truth’ Spence or whatever his name is."

"If you’re the truth, I speak the truth. I got no problem fighting you. You, me, Al [Haymon] - we can all sit down at a table. I got no problem fighting you. Bring your uncle Floyd and let’s negotiate that the winner automatically fights [Mayweather] so that he proves to the world that he will fight any undefeated fighter, not just Latino fighters which have a certain style that [Mayweather is] accustomed to since the amateurs."
