ORANGE – Thompson Boxing Promotions is pleased to announce the signing of two highly-regarded prospects to its roster of future champions, as featherweight Juan Carlos Burgos and junior welterweight Pavel Miranda have come on board to take the next step in their assault of the elite in their respective weight classes.

“I’m pleased to have Juan Carlos and Pavel as part of the Thompson Boxing Promotions team, we’re going to do everything in our power to keep them active in the ring and on a continuous climb to a world championship,” said Ken Thompson.  “Both of these young men are determined and talented, and fight fans will enjoy watching them in action every time out. At their young age they are top-notch Mexican prospects. Now the boxing world will have a chance to witness these athletes in America,” concluded Thompson.

“These two young fighters will move up in the boxing world just like Thompson Boxing Promotions.” Added Roberto Sandoval, the manager of Burgos and Miranda. “Together we are going to rise to the top,”

Juan Carlos BURGOS (15-0, 13 KOs), the nephew of former world champion Victor Burgos, is a native of Tijuana who is rapidly showing that fistic prowess definitely runs in the family.  A pro since 2004, the 19-year-old is already the WBC featherweight Continental Americas champion, and he has shown an uncanny ability to box or bang once the bell rings.

Also hailing from Tijuana, 20-year-old Pavel MIRANDA (16-1, 10 KOs) has rebounded from a controversial split decision loss in his seventh fight to reel off ten straight wins that included six knockouts.  In May, Miranda took home his first pro title – the Interim WBC Youth junior welterweight title - with a ten round decision win over previously unbeaten Miguel Zuniga, and in his last fight on September 16th, Miranda stopped Francisco Gil in three rounds.

Burgos and Miranda join a stellar Thompson Boxing Promotions roster that contains fellow prospects Timothy Bradley (21-0, 11 KOs), Josesito Lopez (22-2, 13 KOs), Yonnhy Perez (14-0, 11 KOs), Dominic Salcido (15-0, 8 KOs) and Sergio Espinoza (14-4-1, 5 KOs).
