On Friday June 10, former world champion DeMarcus Corley was matched against welterweight prospect, Thomas Dulorme (12-0, 10 KOs), on the card Boricua Invasion 1, at the Roseland Ballroom in New York. After being dominated in the ring by Dulorme for 10 rounds, the experienced fighter heaped praise on the young boxer.

"Dulorme is a very good fighter. He is accurate and doesn't run. I have no doubt that he will become a world champion. I believe that he has the skill to reach the level of Cotto, Mayweather and Judah," Corley clarified by telephone.

With the win, Dulorme won the interim belt in the NABA [World Boxing Association].All three judges saw it unanimously win with equal scores of 99-90. In addition, this fight positioned Dulorme in the number 12 position in the WBA rankings.

For his part, Dulorme said, "Wow, I'm honored that Corley said that. I appreciate it a lot. His words motivate me to keep working hard to achieve the goal of becoming world champion."

Thomas's next fight will be on August 19 at the Juan Pachin Vicens Auditorium in Ponce.
