On Saturday February 8th, Terri Harper (9-0) faces the sternest test of her career when the IBO super-featherweight champion unifies with reigning WBC champion, Eva Wahlstrom (23-1-2) as a co-feature to Kell Brook's comeback at the Sheffield Arena. The action comes to you live on Sky Sports in the UK and DAZN in the U.S.

So far, the unbeaten twenty-three year-old has passed every test she's faced as a pro and shows no signs of slowing down as the level of competition rises. Wahlstrom, a pro since 2010 and who has only ever lost to Katie Taylor, promises to be a career-defining bout for Harper.

"I know she's very experienced," Harper explained. "I think she's had five title defences of the WBC (and) a few controversial wins. She's a tough opponent and she's not a world champion for nothing. So, I know I've got to go out there and give her my 'A' game."

The Yorkshire pugilist even spent the most sacred of days honing her craft. Christmas Day saw Harper, her coach and manager Stefy Bull and training partner, Anthony Tomlinson grafting in the gym. This undoubtedly shows a level of dedication that some in the sport won't strive to be at.

"I've had no time off and Christmas to me were just another day, same as New Year's Eve, New Year's Day," she said. "But it'll all be worth it as my Christmas and New Year will be on February 9th (laughs)!"

Harper officially joined the British boxing behemoth that is Matchroom Boxing last year and made her promotional debut for the brand with a successful defence of her IBO super-featherweight world championship against Viviane Obenauf.

"I kind of stuck to my basics really when I boxed Obenauf," she told me. "I could've done a lot more, but I felt as though I were playing it safe, just making sure I got the win. Making my debut as a Matchroom fighter, it was important for me to get the win. Now I'm through the door, I'm ready to show everyone what I really can do."

Prior to being promoted by Eddie Hearn, Harper had been fighting on cards promoted by her manager and coach, Stefy Bull, packing out the Magna Centre in Rotherham on the night she won her IBO world title. She's continuing to sell a huge amount of tickets as her fan base grows.

"Touching six hundred," she told me she's sold for this fight.

"It's mad really. I kind of underestimated how many I'd be selling. I've got them all out now, so I've got a good support. It's amazing, especially after Christmas, (with) people spending their cash at this time of year."

Matchroom have done wonders building the career of two-time Olympic champion and two-weight pro world champion, Katie Taylor. If the in-ring accomplishments keep on coming, expect Harper to be the next female poster girl for Matchroom Boxing.

"I don't see why not," the humble Harper shyly admitted. "They're keen to invest money in me. This week just gone, we've had Matchroom up filming and stuff. It's my second fight for Matchroom and they've spent the money they have getting Eva to fight me, so they obviously see something."

Fellow undefeated elite super-featherweight, Mikaela Mayer was reportedly next in line to get a shot at Wahlstrom and her WBC title. Her promoter, Bob Arum was apparently trumped by Eddie Hearn, thus Harper gets first crack at the Finn.

"I'm not quite sure, to be honest, but I think Eddie's put in the better offer for Eva. I got the opportunity, so I'm going to run with it. I've heard Mikaela Mayer is on about moving up (in weight), but I don't know how true that is. I don't really know much about that, I just do what I'm told (laughs)."
