WBC super bantamweight champion Víctor “Vikingo” Terrazas (37-2-1, 21 KOs) is stepping up the preparation pace for his upcoming first title defence, at StubHub Center, in Carson, California.

Victor fights undefeated Leo Santa Cruz on August 24th, and is determined to keep the crown he fought so hard to win from the vacant title war against Cristian Mijares.

One of his sparring partners, Enrique “Duende” Bernache, has stressed that Terrazas is in tremendous shape.

“Victor is fit and very motivated. Now that I’ve sparred with him,  I certainly felt his power.  There’s absolutely no doubt he will arrive in the best shape of his career for his fight,” Bernache stressed, adding: “This will be a very difficult fight for Victor, but being an eye witness to his meticulous preparation, I believe he's going to win!"

Bernache’s trainer, Sendai Tanaka agreed:

“I'm watching Terrazas and he is very strong. He going to be a very different fighter than when he fought against Mijares. Terrazas is a very smart fighter, and he will know what to do to retain his title. His rival must be very careful when they fight! ”
