It has been confirmed tonight by the Russian party, that Andrey Klimov (16-0, 8 KOs) will collide with highly regarded lightweight prospect Terence Crawford (21-0, 16 KOs) in a battle of undefeated sensations. The fight will take place on October 5 at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, as a part of the Miguel Cotto vs. Delvin Rodriguez showdown. Crawford is currently rated #1 by the WBO and #3 by the IBF, while Klimov is IBF #7 and WBO #12 rated lightweight. The clash is set for ten rounds, and WBO NABO 135lb title will be at stake.

Crawford, 25, has come out of relative shadows this year, scoring a wide decision over rugged perennial contender Breidis Prescott of Colombia in March and then stopping 34-1-1 Mexican Alejandro Sanabria in June within six rounds. Klimov, 31, a former Russian and WBC USNBC beltholder, kicked off 2013 with a technical decision over 29-1, 28 KOs, Argentinean Matias Ezequiel Gomez in March; then showed guts and chin in a hard victory over another notable puncher John Molina en route to a majority decision – also in June.
