Out of seemingly nowhere, Terence Crawford could fight Chris Eubank Jr. next.

Eubank has posted a mock fight poster online, and speculation has subsequently gathered apace that the fight could take place this summer.

It is thought discussions are at an early stage, and no news is imminent, but the image Eubank has posted indicated the fight could happen at middleweight.

No venue has been announced or speculated upon, but the bout could do good business in the UK, the US, or in the Middle East.

As things stand, Crawford and Eubank have the same trainer, Brian “Bomac” McIntyre, who won 2023 Trainer of the Year honors for the work he did with both me, guiding Crawford, 40-0 (31), to the win of his career so far against Errol Spence, and then taking Eubank Jr. to an emphatic revenge victory over Liam Smith, who had stopped the Brighton man earlier in the year.

Crawford’s last outing was the Spence fight in July, at welterweight, while Eubank’s rematch with Smith was at 160lbs in September.

Eubank is 34, and has been long-linked to a fight with Conor Benn, who now seemingly has his sights on Manny Pacquiao, while Omaha’s Crawford, 36, had hoped to face Canelo Alvarez, but the Mexican appears close to a fight with Jaime Munguia on May 4.
