Josh Taylor is officially to challenge for his first major title. This time, the officials on the ground really mean it.

Confusion over whether or not the unbeaten contender from Scotland actually made the 140-pound super lightweight limit became a moot point as he came correct on his second attempt for Saturday's World Boxing Super Series semifinals matchup with reigning titlist Ivan Baranchyk.

The two will collide Saturday evening at SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. Their World Boxing Super Series semifinals contest was momentarily placed on hold after confusion came of Friday’s official weigh-in.

For whatever reason, the weights were registered and announced in kilograms rather than metric pounds or even the United Kingdom preferred measure in stones. Taylor was believed to be on the mark until a conversion from kilograms to pounds showed that he was actually 0.2 pounds over the limit.

The initial scale fail wasn’t addressed until after Taylor (14-0, 12KOs) had already begun to rehydrate. It didn’t at all factor into his being able to shed the extra weight. The 2012 Olympian and current top contender was given two hours to make the contracted limit, but was able to hit the mark with an hour to spare.

Baranchyk (19-0, 12KOs) easily made weight on the first try. The undefeated Belarusian came in at 139.6 pounds for the first defense of the super lightweight title he claimed in a 7th round stoppage of Anthony Yigit last October.

The winner of Saturday’s main event will face unbeaten titlist and tournament top seed Regis Prograis in the WBSS super lightweight finals later this year.

Also on the show, Emmanuel Rodriguez and Naoya Inoue square off in a matchup of unbeaten bantamweights to determine whom will face Nonito Donaire in the WBSS 118-pound finals. Both boxers checked in at 117.7 pounds for their co-feature attraction.

Rodriguez (19-0, 12KOs) attempts the second defense of the bantamweight title he acquired on the road in England last May; Inoue (17-0, 15KOs) looks to become a full titlist in his third weight division, having already claimed hardware at junior flyweight and super flyweight before moving up in weight last year.

Both bouts will air live Saturday on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom and stream live in the United States on DAZN USA beginning at 2:00pm ET.
