After a 23 month absence from the ring, "Marvelous" Tarvis Simms returned to the ring Saturday night, looking impressive en route to a unanimous eight round decision over tough Daniel "Danny Zee" Stanisavljevic of Los Angeles. The two middleweights faced off in an entertaining and crowd-pleasing main event at the packed Riveredge Hotel in Reading, PA. Though Stanisavljevic proved to be a formidable and game opponent, Simms overpowered him with his speed and ring experience. Simms improved his record to 21-0-1 (11 KOs).

In the night’s co-feature, heavyweight prospect Travis Kauffman of Reading improved his record to 8-0 (6 KOs) with a third round TKO over tough, but outclassed, Joe Stofle. Local light heavyweight favorite Jeremy Stauffer (6-2-1, 6 KOs) suffered a first round knockout when William Prieto (5-1, 2 KOs) caught him with a left hook behind the ear. In other action, lightweight prospect Darnell Jiles (6-0, 3 KOs) stopped Damon Antoine in round four of a scheduled six rounder. Reading junior welterweight Jason Cintron (5-0, 1 KO) scored a unanimous four round decision over John Lipscomb, and Reading cruiserweight Erik Faust knocked out Lamar Jones in the first round.

King’s Promotions along with the Riveredge Hotel & Restaurant promoted the fight card. Special guests in attendance included former heavyweight champ Hasim Rahman, current IBF welterweight champ Kermit Cintron, and current WBA light middleweight champ Travis Simms.
