The super champion of the World Boxing Association at super featherweight, Takashi Uchiyama of Japan, has received special permission by the World Championships Committee to defend his WBA title against Panamanian Jezreel Corrales on the 27th of April at the General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.

Uchiyama, 36-years-old is unbeaten in his 11 year career with a record of 24 wins, one draw and 20 knockouts. The Japanese slugger won his WBA title in January 2010 against Juan Carlos Salgado with a vicious TKO in the twelfth round.

Nicknamed by the Japanese fans as "KO Dynamite" - Uchiyama has successfully defended his belt 11 times (including a draw), with his most recent defense taking place last December when he knocked Oliver Flores in the third round.

Corrales, 24-years-old, has seven years of experience and a resume of 19 wins, one loss and 7 knockouts. Corrales won his WBA interim super featherweight belt at the annual KO To Drugs event, which the WBA staged last December in Panama. He defeated Juan Antonio Rodriguez in eleven rounds. His only blemish on his record was in his second pro fight back in April 2009, when he lost to Jhonatan Arenas by way of unanimous decision.

On the same card as Uchiyama-Corrales, two other World Boxing Association champions - Kohei Kono and Ryoichi Taguchi - will defend their belts in featured fights.
