Due to the controversy that prevailed after the victory of Adrian Hernandez, last Saturday in Texcoco Mexico, and the courage showed by the now former WBC light flyweight world champion, Gilberto Keb Baas, the WBC headed by Jose Sulaiman Chagnon is considering to make a rematch between these two warriors.

Sulaiman said; “it is important to respect the distinction that Adrian Hernandez (new WBC 108 pounds world champion) won in the ring”.

Due to the great importance of the fight and the deep respect I have for the former world champion Gilberto Keb Baas, I am sending to members of the WBC Board of Governors the application to be voted for a voluntary defense of the new champion Adrian Hernandez, but required to give to Gilberto Keb a mandatory rematch in the next fight; said the leader.

Sulaiman mentioned that the fight was stopped by the Doctor in Chief of the Texcoco Boxing Commission after being called by the referee and the doctor ruled that Keb Baas had received many serious blows and the referee issued the command, knowing that two judges favored Hernandez by 5 points and the other by 2.

There were claims at the corner of Keb, saying that the champion was going to "die in the line," as there is no doubt because we know the courage and heart of Gilberto.

However it has been the primary policy of the WBC, that nothing can replace the commitment to prevent harm to the health of boxers.

The fight already is considered one of the great battles of all time in boxing history, Gilberto Keb lost his title with great dignity, always giving the best he had, but the new champion Adrian Hernandez won cleanly always being higher than his rival.
