Stuart Hall has said that he will consider his future in boxing after taking a break with his family.

The Darlington bantamweight was outpointed by Lee Haskins when he challenged the Bristolian for his IBF world title last weekend.

Hall, 36, was on the wrong end of the judges’ tallies at the end of the 12-round contest at the O2 Arena in London, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office, as he dropped to 20-5-2 (7 KOs).

He is a former custodian of the belt Haskins (34-3, 14 KOs) now has, but Hall has admitted that this could be the end of the road following the disappointing defeat to the man he’d lost to previously in 2012 when the pair met for the vacant European title.

“Retirement has crossed my mind,” Hall, who lost the belt to Paul Butler in June, 2014 after winning it against Vusi Malinga less than seven months earlier, told BBC Tees.

“I’m just going to see what happens and I don’t think I can leave on this note.”

Hall has said that he would chase a third fight with ‘Playboy’ Haskins, who won the belt against Ivan Morales of Mexico in Cardiff in May, if he were to carry on.

“I should be world champion now,” he continued, “but we’ll see what happens and if we can get a rematch that will be great.

“If there are no big fights, then I don’t think I’ll be continuing.”
