Former four-time world champion boxer Stevie Johnston will be fighting for the vacant International Boxing Association lightweight title Friday in Orlando.

The 34-year-old Johnston (39-4-1, 18 knockouts) trains with Gus Curren at the House of Champions Boxing Gym in Vero Beach and will face up-and-coming Tyrone Harris (18-2, 13 knockouts) in a scheduled 12-round bout.

It will be Johnston's first fight since July 29.

"The guy doesn't have the experience Stevie has, so I see Stevie stomping this guy," said Curren, who has been training Johnston for less than a month.

Johnston, a 5-foot-5, 135-pound boxer was born in Denver, but calls Vero Beach his home. He has won nine world lightweight title fights.

Three other boxers who train with Curren won fights this past weekend in Mississippi.

Heavyweight Sherman Williams earned the World Boxing Federation heavyweight title by knocking out Ralph West in the third round. Super middleweight Jameson Bostic knocked out Timothy Hall in the first round, while heavyweight Grant Cudjoe knocked out Terry Porter in the second round.
