Olympia Theatre, Montreal, Quebec - In a battle of undefeated fighters for the vacant IBF Youth super welterweight title, Steve Butler (15-0-1, 12KOs) crushed overmatched Sladjan Janjanin (13-1, 11KOs) in three rounds.

Butler was punishing him with hard shots to the body and head. Janjanin was trying to respond with some wild swings that missed. In the the second, a series of body shots sent Janjanin down against the ropes. He beat the count and Butler went right after him with more hard shots to the head and body. A second knockdown was ruled in the second when Janjanin was getting beat up against the ropes and they basically held him up. Once the round restarted, he continued to get beaten up.

The third round was more punishment, with Janjanin taking a vicious beating against the ropes. The referee eventually saw enough and jumped in to wave off the fight and save Janjanin from further punishment.

Janjanin has a very padded record with some very odd shifts in weight from 148 to 164.5 in his last fight.

Super middleweight prospect Schiller Hyppolite (20-1, 13KOs) got hurt several times and was dropped in rounds five and six, but held on to win a ten round unanimous decision over veteran gatekeeper Darnell Boone (23-23-4, 12KOs).

The scores were  95-93, 96-93 and 95-93.

With 10 seconds left in the fifth round, Hyppolite went down hard after Boone landed a right hand following an exchange. Hyppolite came out unsteady for the sixth as Boone went on the attack and landed hard power shots. Another right hand sent Hyppolite staggering against the ropes,, which forced referee Michael Griffin to give him a count.

Hyppolite bounced back with a strong seventh round, backing up Boone and roughing him up against the ropes as he staggered from a hard left hook on the corner. Now fully recovered, Hyppolite resumed his boxing and stayed active again landing the crisper punches, occasionally exchanging on the inside for the final two rounds.

After the fight Hyppolite's promoter mentioned he would like to set up a possible showdown versus Jean Pascal.

The main event was originally scheduled to feature former IBF middleweight David Lemieux (34-3, 31 KOs), but the bout fell apart after the official weigin on Friday.

Lemieux was unable to make weight and James de la Rosa (23-3, 13 KOs) refused to agree to a higher weight. There was a contract weight of 163. Lemieux weighed in at 165.6 pounds amd De La Rosa at 162.
