"The Canadian Kid" Steve Molitor (34-3), a two-time International Boxing Federation super bantamweight, has announced his retirement from boxing. Molitor was last seen in the ring dropping a loss in six rounds to Carl Frampton last September in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Molitor is only 32-years-old and wants to focus his energy on his three children.

“I’m more about being a father now.“We live quite a bit west of Toronto now, so training full time is not an option. Those are things you dream of: being recognized everywhere you go and winning a world title,” he said to the Canadian Press. “That’s something I always wanted and I got to do it twice. I need to have a couple of years away from the sport.”
