On August 3rd, 2Pound Sports returns to the Clackamas Armory just south of Portland for “Fight Night 4,” headlined by Steve Forbes, who fights an exhibition against fellow former world champion DeMarcus “Chop Chop” Corley.

On the heels of several losses in the family, Forbes elected to square off against Corley in a friendly exhibition rather than risk being distracted from training. However, the exhibition is not only a throwback concept for two throwback fighters, but it allows a unique opportunity for Forbes and Corley to match their skills when doing so otherwise might not be easy.

Forbes, 36-14 with 11 knockouts, returned to the ring for the first time in almost four years last April when he defeated Tavorus Teague by decision on 2Pound Sports’ “Fight Night 3” card. The former IBF super featherweight champion fought as a professional for the 50th time against Teague. Corley, Leesburg, Va., isn’t exactly short on experience himself, having fought for the 85th time as a pro last March, though losing to Custio Clayton, as his record went to 51-33-1 with 28 knockouts.

Corley’s 18-year-old son DeJohn, also fighting out of Leesburg, will make his professional debut against Arizona lightweight Mike Fernandez, who sports an 0-1 record.

Keeping with the familial theme, Mike Fernandez’s brother William, 0-6, will step in with undefeated Bend, Ore. junior middleweight Chris “The Truth” Johnson. An Oregon Golden Gloves winner at 152 pounds, Johnson is yet another up-and-coming young talent from the Pacific Northwest that 2Pound Sports is featuring on a local fight card.

Also on “Fight Night 4,” Tacoma, Wa. junior middleweight Andre Keys returns to another 2Pound Sports card, this time looking to score his 10th victory in a row. Keys, 10-1 with 5 knockouts, takes on Antonio Neal from Granger, Wa., who sports a 4-10-1 record with 3 knockouts.

Las Vegas welterweight Daquan Wyatt fights for the second time in a row at the Clackamas Armory, and the 3-0 prospect takes on Andres Abarca, Normandy Park, Wa. native with a 1-2 ledger.

Rounding matters out, Kent, Wa. lightweight William Hernandez-Gomez makes his professional debut against an opponent to be announced shortly.

As always, 2Pound Sports and Entertainment is committed to showcasing as many Pacific Northwest fighters as possible, and bringing boxing right back to local fans! Come join us again on August 3rd!
