Stephen Ormond plans on shaking off any ring rust ahead of a big 2019 when he makes his return at the Brentwood Centre on Saturday.

Ormond (26-5) is back in action for the first time since August, and he’s looking forward to getting the juices flowing again in his first fight in seven months.

Ormond said: “I’m looking to get the rounds in more so than anything, and I’m expecting to do all of them. At the end of the day it’s better for me to get the rounds in than go out there and blast someone out early.

“During fight week it’s just all about staying relaxed and doing an hour or so a day in the gym. We’re only a few days away now so it’s nothing too serious.

“I’m happy to be back in the ring this weekend and it’s been good to move on from the Paul Hyland Jnr fight.

“On paper he may have won it but most people know that I should have got the decision. People have asked if I’d want a rematch but there is nothing to offer to me as no belt or anything would be on the line, so I’m focusing on myself.”

The main event of the show in Brentwood live on iFL TV sees Michael McKinson defend his WBC International Silver welterweight title against Ryan Kelly, while Mikey Sakyi puts his Southern Area super-lightweight belt on the line against Idris Hill.

There are a number of talented stars also in action, including Shaquille Day, Danny Dignum, Martin McDonagh, DP Carr, Gino Kanters and James Hawley.
