Former champion Paul Spadafora, fresh from his win over Hector Velasquez, will now join the training camp of another Pittsburgh native, Rod Salka (19-3, 3KOs). On August 9th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Salka will face WBA/WBC junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (28-0, 16KOs) in a Showtime televised main event.

A significant number of boxing fans are very unhappy with the fight. Spadafora, who knows Salka well, won't be surprised if his good friend shocks the world with a huge upset.

"First thing I'm going to do is go up there and help Rod Salka get this win over Danny Garcia. That's the first thing on my agenda. I'm so glad that it's like that [with people hating on the fight], because it's going to be no surprise to me if Rod goes in there, does what he knows how to do, and wins the fight. The social media can do what they want to do, but do not underestimate Rod Salka in this fight. He is better than what a lot of people think," Spadafora told BoxingScene.com.
