BoxingScene.com understands that the representatives of Callum Smith and Christopher Rebrasse are in negotiations to stage a bout between the pair on June 26 at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England.

Smith, 15-0 (11 KOs), returns to action this weekend in Birmingham, facing Oleg Fedotovs over eight rounds.  The youngest of the four fighting Smith brothers will look to shake off any ring rust incurred during a six-month layoff due to a hand injury.

The 25-year-old is currently ranked number four by the WBC having claimed a unanimous decision over former world title challenger Nikola Sjekloca in his last in-ring appearance back in November.

A former European champion, Rebrasse, 23-3 (6 KOs), is no stranger to British shores having put on a valiant, but ultimately unsuccessful, display against George Groves in September of last year. Although the scorecards were fair (118-110, twice, and 117-11) they fail to reflect the competitiveness of the contest.  The Frenchman proved himself to be a durable opponent and will look to stand up to the Smith’s famed punch-power.

If the bout is finalised, Smith won’t be the only Liverpudlian stepping up to world level on the card.  Rocky Fielding will be in the biggest test of his career to date when he faces Brian Vera.
